Join Tennant in this newly created role. As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you’ll be responsible for planning, implementing, managing, monitoring and upgrading security measures for the protection of the organizations data, systems and networks. In this role, you’ll have an opportunity to build and start-up a security practice within a global company by laying down the foundation, framework and processes.   • Ensuring that the organization's data and infrastructure are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls
  • Testing and identifying network and system vulnerabilities
  • Troubleshooting security and network problems
  • Management and configuration of network security architectures, including firewalls, Demilitarized Zones (DMZ), router ACLs (Access Control Lists), and web content filters
  • Investigating escalated NGFW and Intrusion Detection System (IDS) alerts
  • Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information
  • Oversee and manage cyber security training and policy updates
  • Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols
  • Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks
  • Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancement

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Network/Computer Security
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience with incident detection, incident response and forensics
  • Experience with Firewalls (functionality and maintenance), Office 365 Security, and endpoint security
  • Software development experience (PoC-level) in C/C++, C#, Python, Java, .NET, PowerShell or similar language
  • Experience using virtualization platforms such as VMWare, Hyper-V
  • Experience with a variety of operating systems (e.g. Windows, Linux, mobile, embedded)
  • Experience analyzing and debugging network traffic/protocols (wired and wireless)
  • Working knowledge of modern cloud and mobile technologies
  • Detailed technical knowledge of database and operating system security
  • Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc.
  • Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols
  • Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, and peers.
