Maintenance Mechanic

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • Perform daily walkthrough of Production Area to identify issues requiring immediate attention.
  • Troubleshoot and address issues that occur during the shift in a timely fashion.
  • Perform regular daily, weekly, monthly, annual PMs on all equipment.
  • Work closely with Production Scheduling for requesting access to equipment for PM purposes.
  • Prepare tooling for Production that will ensure minimal downtime during changeovers.
  • Maintains standard work that details activities during the shift.
  • Support any continuous improvement activities as required.
  • Perform any other tasks/duties as needed.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

 

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • 5 years minimum experience as a maintenance mechanic or the like.
  • Familiar with Cam-operated machinery including disassembling, repairing/replacing worn components such as cams, bearings, seals, O-rings, etc., reassembling and timing mechanism.
  • Versed in reading hydraulic and electrical schematics for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Familiar with OSHA standards concerning machine guarding and safety interlocks.
  • Familiar with various maintenance shop tools and equipment.
  • Work knowledge of MiG/TiG welding.
  • Knowledge of PLCs a plus.
  • Versed in the concept of 5S/Lean manufacturing.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

  • Must be able to adapt to the changing priorities and schedules as business needs require.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in individual and/or group settings adjusting language accordingly to meet the needs of the audience. 
  • Secures relevant information from associates pertaining to maintenance needs and develops proper course of action.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to maintain positive relationship with associates.
  • Develops creative solutions to address maintenance needs - thinks “outside of the box”.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.

 

 REQUIRED PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Frequent use of ladders, personal lifts at heights of up to 35 feet.
  • Lifting demands up to 40 lb.
