2nd Shift Rotomold Operator

Education & Experience

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years related roto-molding and/or injection molding experience.
  • Previous experience scheduling short-term work, guiding/training others and troubleshooting process problems.

Skill / Technical Expertise

  • Perform scraping, flaming, cleaning, mold changing, testing and counting operations to established standards.
  • Moves tools, raw materials, work in progress and finished goods into and outbound of the department.
  • Understands the quality properties of molds.  Judges the correct shrinkage and maintains necessary tolerances.
  • Maintains parts inventory and equipment in good operating order.
  • Applies basic skills.  Performs simple rotomold processes. Requires brief training.
  • Ability to navigate Microsoft Windows, drawing/method layout locator and Autotime.
  • Uses basic hand tools, jigs, fixtures and routers to cut out parts.

Primary Functions

  • Maintains the operation of the rotomold machine including start-up, shutdown, minor adjustments, fills roto-mold buckets with powder, pulls completed parts, scrapes clean and cuts out parts per work instructions.  The operations require the enhancement of appearance, function and safety for the product. 
  • Process is easily repeatable, requiring a low amount of troubleshooting and adjustment to complete assigned tasks.
  • Carries out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Must operate equipment to finish the product.  Including:  programing machine, entering and saving on machine, sending to arm, scraping, flaming, cleaning, mold changing, testing and counting operations to established standards.
  • Ability to schedule short-term work in absence of Sr. Operator
  • Ability to be trained on multiple production lines.
  • Understands cure levels, cooling times and temperature adjustments.
  • Moves tools, raw materials, work in progress and finished goods into and outbound of the department.
  • Uses tools, fixtures, jigs, method layouts, routers, and Engineering drawings to meet quality and performance requirements.  Read and understand prints at a basic level.
  • Applies basic and intermediate level skills.  Moderate comparable complexity requires longer training period.
  • Ability to navigate and independently use Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Outlook, Drawing/Method layout locator, and Autotime.

Autonomy / Supervision

  • Limited supervision; rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned duties; receive general work instructions
  • Deals with problems involving several variables in non-standardized situations.
