2nd Shift Materials Coordinator

Provide coordination of information and administrative support, specifically related to the receiving and counting of material, to the Supply Chain group in the plant.

 

  • Accurately record incoming purchased material receipts of stocked and to-order components in a timely manner.  Reconcile the physical components against the supplier’s documentation (packing slip, fax, advanced ship notice, etc.)
  • Generate and distribute daily reports; must be able to understand data and check for reasonableness on an ongoing, daily basis.
  • Communicate to supervisors, team leads, and material planners when critical materials arrive.
  • Look up component status in SAP.
  • Coordinate with truck drivers, material planners, transportation and supplier’s transportation departments.
  • Coordinate returnable container pick-ups.
  • Handle material with fork truck and/or PIT.
  • Participate in preparing and conducting physical inventories and cycle counts.
  • Maintain 5S practices
  • Perform and be able to find, count, and report actual physical cycle counts.
  • May perform back-up or other related department functions
  • Could be rotating shift assignment.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement projects
  • Perform daily visual management of purchased materials and place orders with suppliers
  • Requires high school diploma or GED
  • Basic understanding of lean tools
  • Asks questions when instructions are not clear or more information is needed
  • Keeps others informed about developments in assigned work
  • Learns how to adapt communication style to work more effectively with others
  • Achieves the goals set for his/her work in a timely manner
  • Seeks to clarify and understand desired outcomes for his/her role
  • Actively seeks additional experience and knowledge in technical/ functional areas to gain expertise beyond current assignments
  • Seeks opportunities to work with and learn from others with a variety of backgrounds and perspectives
