Credit Specialist

The core function of this role is to provide a wide range of credit sales support services.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct credit reviews for existing customers
  • Interact with customers, field representatives and company personnel to effectively administer credit policies, procedures & objectives
  • Review new customer credit applications and make recommendations and decisions on creditworthiness
  • Shutdown bankrupt accounts immediately and maintain a spreadsheet
  • Process bad debt forms
  • Maintain credit master records for new and existing customers
  • Complete scoresheets for distribution, strategic and coatings customers
  • Review daily deletion report updating accounts accordingly
  • Create & maintain credit groups
  • Research organizational structures, mergers & buyouts
  • Refers delinquent accounts to third party collection agency
  • Other duties as assigned



  • High school diploma
  • 3-5 years of broad-based credit & collections experience
  • Basic understanding of company legal structures
  • Strong computer skills
  • Flexible; readily adapts to change and new products, systems of methods
  • Strong attention to detail, effective at prioritization, multi-tasking and effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational abilities and capability to consistently follow procedural direction.
  • Ability to work independently
  • NACM credentials preferred
