ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Test Technician supports engineering by building, instrumenting, troubleshooting, and validating systems, machinery, components, prototypes, automated equipment, and electrical, software, hydraulic, and robotic systems. This role assists with the selection, setup, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production test equipment and fixtures, including automation control panels, PLCs, AC/DC drives, programmable relays, timers, contactors, motors, and pneumatic cylinders and valves.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, working with a variety of equipment and systems, and supporting product development through testing, prototyping, and continuous improvement.

WHY JOIN US:

Join a team where your hands-on technical skills play a direct role in bringing new products and ideas to life. In this role, you’ll work with a wide range of systems, equipment, and emerging technologies while partnering closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to solve real-world challenges. It’s an opportunity to build broad technical experience, contribute to meaningful innovation, and grow your capabilities in testing, prototyping, automation, and continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Test Execution & Monitoring: Plan, build, conduct, and monitor standard and moderately complex experiments and tests on a variety of systems, components, prototypes, and production equipment, including automated accelerated endurance testing. Monitor active testing for signs of failure, record results in standard formats, and share findings with engineering and product teams.
  • Prototype & Equipment Build Support: Coordinate and execute prototype and product builds per engineering direction, assist with build and test fixturing, and support setup, modification, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of test equipment, fixtures, automation control panels, PLCs, AC/DC drives, relays, motors, pneumatic devices, and related systems.
  • Troubleshooting & Technical Problem Solving: Troubleshoot electrical, software, robotic, hydraulic, electromechanical, and automated systems with engineering support as needed. Identify practical solutions to design, testing, and equipment issues, and provide recommendations to resolve roadblocks or malfunctions that affect test validity or performance.
  • Assembly, Instrumentation & Inspection: Use soldering equipment, hand tools, precision measuring tools, and test instruments to install parts, hardware, and instrumentation; verify part dimensions; perform in-process inspections; apply strain gauges, pressure transducers, thermocouples, flow sensors, load cells, and other instrumentation; and test the performance of electromechanical assemblies.
  • Documentation & Records: Assist in creating and maintaining drawings, specifications, procedures, work orders, and other documentation to support new product development, build processes, and test repeatability. Maintain accurate records to recreate desired build processes and designs.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Participate in R&D efforts for new product development and current product improvements, support other Product Development Lab areas as workloads change, drive current products and prototype equipment as needed, and work overtime when required to support production operations.
  • Planning, Quality & Compliance: Prioritize work based on sequence and importance, perform gage verification and calibration as needed, follow safety guidelines and use required safety devices, and support company initiatives related to quality, environmental, regulatory, and operating procedure compliance while maintaining positive collaboration with employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Two years of trade school, or one year of trade school plus one year of college, in an electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, robotics, automation, manufacturing, or related technical field; equivalent hands-on technical training may also be considered.
  • Two or more years of related hands-on experience in product testing, prototype build support, laboratory operations, manufacturing test, automation support, or equipment troubleshooting.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
