Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Tennant Company is currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead a team of Manufacturing Engineers in our Golden Valley plant.  This role will drive significant project level improvement initiatives for industrial products within Tennant.  This role will be the one voice for manufacturing engineering throughout the facility, creating a unified standard amongst the value streams.  Key metrics include People, Quality, Delivery and Cost.  This role will lead change management, project management & capital expenditure projects. 

 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Lead a multi-discipline Manufacturing Engineering team that supports new product launches, driving continuous improvement and technical improvements while managing relationships throughout the plant.
  • Responsible for the processes within assembly, fabrication, paint, machining, cost estimating, layouts, planning, standards, etc., and requires the coordination of all disciplines.
  • Drive a high performance culture through organizational development.
  • Implement a root-cause counter measure mindset within the manufacturing engineering team.
  • Identify technology solutions to improve manufacturing productivity and throughput.
  • Ensure optimum utilization of space and equipment within a manufacturing plant.
  • Lead change through development of people, systems and processes that ensure improved business performance.
  • Create operating and capital budgets, forecasts, manage tooling accounts, identifying opportunities to reduce costs and track performance against these budgets.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering OR related field
  • In lieu of a degree, 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
  • 7+ years of experience leading teams
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing and 8 wastes
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is preferred
  • Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully introduce, handle and manage change.
  • Experience with successful integration of new manufacturing layouts. Manage volume changes through RCCP
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully managing large projects
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

  • Ability to maintain stamina throughout a standard work day, on-site.
  • Consistent attendance either onsite or remotely as needed by business necessity.
