SUMMARY:

The Senior Manager, Benefits and Payroll will be a thought leader with proven record of leading and delivering scalable, employee-enabling benefits and payroll programs, as part of a larger Total Rewards Philosophy.  This role is responsible for developing and implementing the vision and strategy for these two functions to clearly differentiate Tennant Company as an Employer of Choice.

In this newly created role, the North America payroll and benefits teams will be joined under one leader focused on scalable and customer focused delivery processes. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role will be responsible for developing a strategic vision for both the benefits and payroll functions. Specifically, the development and delivery of all employee benefit and well-being programs, and payroll services in the Americas region (U.S. Canada, Mexico, and Brazil).  Additionally, this role will lead the overall design, development, implementation, continuous improvement, administration, compliance and communication of these two functions. To include:

      • Health & Well-Being Plans
      • Integrated Disability, Leave, and Absence Management programs, including Short and Long Term Disability Plans; all statutory leaves including FMLA and ADA/AA; and all time-off benefits -- Vacation, Holiday, and Sick-Time Pay Plans (hourly and exempt)
      • Retirement Plans – 401(k) and Profit Sharing Plans
      • Deferred Compensation and Executive Non-Qualified Plans
      • Life Insurance – Basic and Voluntary; and Voluntary benefits programs
      • Payroll Services (payroll processing, tax, accounting, key SOX controls)
      • Tennant’s Time & Attendance System
      • External relationship management with vendors

Success in this role involves an ability to think big and execute nimbly in order to support our employee experience with compliance, security and accurate processing.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field  Master’s Degree preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive related experience, including people leadership
  • CPP and/or CEBS certification is a plus
  • Experience in a global public company is preferred
  • Ability to balance the strategic initiatives and operational tasks
