Position Overview
The Robotics Deployment Operations Specialist is responsible for orchestrating and managing large‑scale robotic deployments across customer sites. This role serves as the central point of coordination—ensuring automation technicians are properly allocated, prepared, deployments stay on track, and customer‑specific deployment strategies are executed consistently.
Acting as “air traffic control” for large scale deployments, this role ensures continuity across teams, manages real‑time issues and escalations, tracks machine logistics, and enables seamless collaboration between Sales, Automation Technicians, Customer Success, and other cross‑functional partners.
Key Responsibilities
Deployment Planning & Coordination
- Own end‑to‑end operational coordination for largescale and complex customer deployments.
- Own and execute deployment kick-off calls with internal deployment teams to align on scope, timelines, and customer-specific strategy.
- Translate customer‑specific deployment strategies into executable plans for on‑site automation technicians.
- Ensure Automation Technicians or Field Sales reps are appropriately scheduled, resourced, and set up for success prior to and during deployment.
- Maintain deployment timelines, milestones, and readiness across multiple concurrent engagements.
Operational Command & Escalation (“Air Traffic Control”)
- Act as the primary point of contact for deployment‑related issues, questions, and real‑time adjustments.
- Coordinate across Automation Technicians, Automation Success leadership, Customer Success, Field Sales, and other stakeholders to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
- Proactively manage risks, dependencies, and changes to keep deployments moving forward.
Logistics & Continuity Management
- Track machine shipments, delivery timing, and deployment sequencing to ensure continuity across sites and teams.
- Ensure alignment between equipment availability, Automation Technician readiness, and customer schedules.
- Maintain clear documentation and handoffs to support seamless deployment execution.
Cross‑Functional Partnership
- Partner closely with the Manager, Automation Success to align technician readiness, capacity planning, and deployment execution.
- Collaborate with Customer Success to ensure deployments support long‑term customer adoption, value realization, and expansion outcomes.
- Provide operational visibility and updates to leadership and key stakeholders.
Process Improvement & Scale
- Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and recurring issues in the deployment process and recommend improvements.
- Help establish scalable deployment standards, tools, and best practices as the business grows.
- Support evolving deployment models (e.g., self‑deployment) by ensuring proper operational oversight and customer support structures are in place.
Qualifications & Competencies
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 5+ years of experience in deployment operations, implementation, technical operations, field enablement, or similar roles.
- Proven experience coordinating complex, multi‑stakeholder projects or deployments.
- Strong operational mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
- Comfortable navigating evolving priorities and adapting as needs change.
- Demonstrates thoughtful problem- solving and composed execution when addressing operational challenges
Preferred
- Experience supporting robotics, automation, hardware + software, or industrial technology deployments.
- Familiarity with field service teams or on‑site technical personnel.
- Experience partnering with Sales, Customer Success, Sales Ops, or Implementation teams.
- Strong organizational and tracking skills (e.g., project tracking tools, CRM, etc.)
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $62,700 - $93,700
Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Tennant Co. reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualifications of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity. Total Compensation = Base Salary + Benefits
