Global Product Manager – Parts & Consumables (P&C)
The Product Manager will support sales growth through lifecycle management of the portfolio, implementing pricing strategies, and sales support. The Product Manager will develop a deep understanding of the market including applications, competitors and customer needs. They will utilize that market knowledge to identify growth opportunities and develop winning solutions. The Product Manager will also need to effectively communicate with key internal stakeholders and influence other functional teams such as sales, service, engineering, field operations, global supply, production and marketing among others. The Product Manager will be accountable for achieving annual revenue, growth, and profit targets.
This role will report to the Global Product Portfolio Director.
Key responsibilities & elements of the role include:
- Contribute to the product strategy and roadmap based on market trends, customer feedback, and competitive insights. Translate strategic goals into actionable product plans.
- Ability to analyze large sets of data and interpret into actionable information.
- Manage products throughout their lifecycle from ideation through development, launch, maturity, and end-of-life. Analyze product performance and initiate enhancements or discontinuations as needed.
- Understand competitive pricing & programs as well as those within adjacent industries.
- Develop a pricing strategy on new solutions as well as manage annual price adjustments to grow portfolio revenue.
- Develop/refine Tennant’s product value proposition, including the development of ROI Sales tools to demonstrate the value Tennant products bring to customers.
- Respond to daily inquiries from the sales organization to support driving awareness of Tennant’s products and solutions within the region.
- Keep abreast of the latest market trends and competitive intel in order to provide Sales and Customers the best product support.
Required Skills:
- Cross functional leadership – ability to lead complex projects involving global stakeholders across multiple functions and regions.
- Data analysis – ability to analyze data and recommend action based on the information.
- Self-starter, comfortable dealing with abstract or ambiguous problems independently.
- High level of business acumen and ability to spot market and business trends, pattern recognition.
- Experience managing change.
- Able to develop and communicate strategy and a vision in a compelling manner~ influencing without direct authority.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Strategic mindset with a focus on execution and delivery of results.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint, experience working in SAP desired.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business/marketing is required.
- 5-7 years of professional work experience, preferably with an emphasis in product management, data analysis or marketing.
- Cross-functional leadership – Experience in leading complex projects involving global stakeholders across multiple functions and regions.
- Knowledge of the workings in a direct and distributor sales and service organization desired, cleaning industry or mobile equipment industry is preferred.
- Project management/leadership experience.
- Willingness to travel - up to 15% of the time.
- Successful track record for problem solving, idea generation and program execution.
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $103,000 - $159,500
Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Tennant Co. reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualifications of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity. Total Compensation = Base Salary + Benefits
