National Distribution Account Specialist

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support daily sales activity to help achieve plan and exceed growth metrics by:
    • Acting as point person to address National Distribution related questions and needs from internal and external parties.
    • Supporting National Distribution managers on the execution of short and long-term customer strategies.
    • Maintaining Tennant products on customer e-commerce platforms including product lifecycle, item integrity and enhanced content. Requires close collaboration with Product Management, Compliance and Marketing teams. 
    • Ensuring positive customer experience with time sensitive orders and large, multi-site opportunities.
    • Assisting National Distribution manager with stock inquires, lead times, and item inventory levels.
  • Drive Internal & External Mindshare to promote National Distribution partnerships:
    • Collaborating with National Distribution Managers & Marketing to develop a communication plan around highlighting key wins, best practices, and operational learnings.  Communicate these to internal and external stakeholders as deemed appropriate.
    • Work with National Distribution Managers, Marketing and available tools to develop national, campaign or customer specific sales collateral.
    • Maintain internal SharePoint/Compass sites to ensure relevant material is available to field sales.
  • Manage the Grainger Scorecard, a customer driven metric based scoring system:
    • Work with a cross-functional team to ensure we have appropriate stock of key products and correct allocation of inventory for Grainger orders.
    • Ensure on-time shipments of products to Grainger distribution centers and drop ship orders.
    • Collaborate with Grainger Supplier Analyst and Transportation teams to make needed changes and ensuring accurate reporting.
    • Own the scorecard analysis, reporting and communication to key internal stakeholders, including senior leadership.

 

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum five years of business experience in sales, inside sales and/or customer service
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with large National/Global customers, by phone and/or in person
  • Track record of successful job performance

  • Functional PC and PC application skills – SAP experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and a strong presence over the phone
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint skills.
