Tennant Company seeks a full-time Mechatronics Engineer 2 based in Golden Valley, MN. Position is part of Tennant’s R&D team, driving technology exploration and integration initiatives across mechanical, electrical, and control systems. Collaborates with internal teams and external partners to develop next-generation industrial equipment, focusing on electromechanical systems and automation. Contributes significantly to delivering award-winning products and services worldwide, leveraging multidisciplinary expertise to create innovative, reliable, and efficient solutions. Req: Master’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and two (2) years of related experience. Must also have demonstrated experience with each of the following: 1) Experience collaborating with multiple engineering teams to develop, plan, and execute technology development and integration projects for manual and autonomous cleaning machines, ensuring compliance with technical and safety standards. 2) Hands-on experience testing, analyzing, and implementing electromechanical technologies, including integration of energy storage systems (e.g., Lithium-Ion batteries) within mechatronic platforms. 3) Proficiency in conducting testing, validation, and troubleshooting of mechatronic subsystems using hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation, data acquisition, and diagnostic tools to verify functionality, communication integrity (CAN, UART), and overall system reliability. 4) Ability to develop system and component-level models using MATLAB, Simulink, and LabVIEW to evaluate dynamic performance and optimize design parameters for electromechanical systems. 5) Strong programming skills in Python and C/C++ for control algorithm development, automation of test and simulation workflows, data analysis, and visualization; experience implementing connected system functions using cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure). All experience may have been gained concurrently. Experience may have been acquired before, during, or after completion of the Master‘s degree program. Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $103,251 - $122,600

Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Tennant Sales and Service Co. reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualifications of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity. Total Compensation = Base Salary + Benefits
