HR Business Partner, Corporate Functions

Tennant Company is seeking a professional HR Business Partner, Corporate Functions to report directly to the HR Manager, Corporate Functions.

This role will support employees across the Finance, Legal, Sustainability, Marketing, HR, IT, Robotics, and R&D functions. The HR Business Partner will collaborate closely with HR Centers of Excellence (CoEs) to drive key HR initiatives and will partner with business leaders to provide guidance and support across employee relations, talent management, performance management, training and development, and HR compliance.

General Responsibilities:

  • Develop a high level of business knowledge and strong partnership with employees and managers.
  • Provide strong customer service regarding employee-related matters.
  • Manage employee relations proactively by recommending employee relations practices to establish and maintain a positive employer – employee relationship.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and be involved as a business partner in the recruitment process for open roles including interviewing, sourcing strategy development and onboarding.
  • Partner with the business to support employee onboarding at all levels to ensure a positive employee experience.
  • Facilitate the annual performance management process to include goal setting, mid-year check-ins, annual appraisals, and compensation planning.
  • Support the organization on employee development including development plans and career pathing.
  • Facilitate, with external partner, work authorization requirements including visa transfers and perms per business need.
  • Draft, review, and update HR policies and procedures in partnership with HR Centers of Excellence and Legal partners.
  • Facilitate timely communication to the organization regarding organizational changes, staff changes, and other important topics.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of HRIS platforms including navigating employee data, processing transactions, and generating reports.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all HR transactions, including hires, job changes, terminations, compensation updates, and organizational changes.
  • Lead projects related to process improvement.

Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years progressive HR experience in HR Generalist roles.
  • Experience working in manufacturing is a plus.
  • Exposure to some or all of the main HR disciplines including talent acquisition, performance management, compensation, benefits, HRIS, and employee relations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Federal, State and Local legislation regarding employment and labor laws.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with policies, handbooks and other compliance areas desired.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR certification preferred

 

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $67,500 - $101,200

Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Tennant Co. reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualifications of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity. Total Compensation = Base Salary + Benefits
