Global Risk and Business Continuity Manager

This position will own both strategic and tactical risk management of Tennant’s corporate insurance portfolio and Tennant’s Business Continuity Management system.   Specifically, this position is responsible for strategic design, implementation and management of all insurance programs for Tennant’s consolidated entities, such as Global Property, Casualty, and the Executives line of insurance. This role will also serve as evangelist and leader of the Business Continuity Management System (BCMS), its design, execution and expansion per the approved ISO framework. 

 

GENERAL RESPONISIBILITIES:  

 

Risk Management & Insurance:

  • Formulate strategic action plans that incorporate recommended mitigation strategies to address risk, threats and vulnerabilities that align with business goals and objectives
  • Own risk management and insurance point of contact for Causality and Executive Insurance Programs/Policies
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Tennant and the designated Insurance Brokers
  • Develop and implement the organization’s risk management program (polices & procedures) and systems in a manner that fulfills the mission and strategic goals of the organization while complying with state and federal laws and accreditation standards related to safety and risk management
  • Work with and across Business Units and Functions to understand global operations and current risk environment.  Work collaboratively with the enterprise risk teams to help identify critical business exposures and key risks by gathering information and conducting risk assessments; and it appropriate, consult on risk mitigation strategies.   Integrate all learnings into the Business Continuity Management System including capital planning and AOP

 

Business Continuity Management System:

  • Lead Tennant in further developing and maturing its global business continuity capabilities
  • Chair the Business Continuity Steering Committee (BCSC) and provide guidance for all critical business processes/services, facilities, and resources regarding to business continuity
  • Facilitate and support the execution of the plans at the time of a crisis event including co-leading the Crisis Assessment Team with Corp Communications
  • Oversee the coordination of response procedures during disruptive events by working closely with Corporate EHS/Emergency Response, IT Disaster Recovery, Crisis Management/Corp Communications and the BCM business unit leads
  • Guide the BCSC to support the BCM Framework as well as manage relationships from all business unit leaders to ensure BCM is a priority within their teams
  • Engage the Board of Directors as required regarding yearly program expansion, deliverables, and threats.
  • Oversee the execution of a comprehensive training program which aligns with onboarding and EHS
  • Oversee development and execution of corporate training programs on BCMS
  • Up to 25% travel required both internationally and domestically 

 

Required Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, information systems, finance or related technical fields; MBA a plus
  • At least 10 years of Business Continuity Management, Corporate Insurance or Corporate Risk Management job experience in leadership positions
  • Experience using/facilitating ISO systems
  • Professional Certification in Business Continuity and/or Emergency Management preferred
