As a Finance Analyst located in our beautifully renovated HQ facilities in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, you’ll support the operations center of excellence, global supply chain, and transportation functions within Tennant Company. In this role, you will provide strong financial reporting, analytics, assist in setting SG&A forecasts, budgets, and expenses to variance analysis. This role also performs ad hoc requests and projects that interact with other finance peers and cross-functional leadership. General Responsibilities:

  • Provide reporting to various functions in the business, primarily in operations
  • Distribute, maintain, create, and analyze internal operational reports. Make recommendations on improvements to reporting
  • Develop financial models, analysis that facilitates business decisions and work with business groups to ensure proper usage and interpretation
  • Work with Tennant internal customers to provide appropriate financial decision making on projects, which would include, but are not limited to, spending trends/patterns, activity analysis, cost reductions, cost analysis, capital project approvals, and other projects which improve margin or profit
  • Coordinate information collection of forecast and plan information with Tennant management
  • Develop management reports, reply to financial inquiries from internal customers, and understand/improve procedures and practices
  • Support monthly reporting of results vs. plan/forecast/PY
  • Provide ad hoc analysis in support of the operations finance manager and other leadership team members
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to reconcile GL accounts


Required Experience & Education: 

  • B.S. degree in accounting or finance, MBA a plus
  • Working experience: 3 to 7 years business analysis experience in a manufacturing organization a plus
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and familiar with ERP (preferably SAP)
  • Strong Access, business Warehouse, or other data mining tool experience required
  • Analytical and financial modeling skills

  • Ability to multitask and meet constant deadlines
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast paced, dynamic environment
