JOB TITLE: 

Director, Global Total Rewards

 

PURPOSE/SCOPE: 

  • The Director of Global Total Rewards plays a pivotal role in the strategic planning, development, and implementation of comprehensive compensation and benefits programs for our organization.
  • This role is key in continuing to shape our total rewards approach to attract, motivate, and retain our employees in support of Tennant’s overall objectives.
  • This role will collaborate with the other HR Centers of Excellence to drive one global, consistent people experience.

 

GENERAL RESPONISIBILITIES: 

  • Develop and execute a global total rewards strategy aligned with Tennant’s objectives and investment profile.
  • Maintain an expert level of knowledge and benchmarking around market trends to ensure Total Rewards programs remain competitive and meet industry and compliance standards.
  • Engage and manage key vendor relationships, including Tennant’s broker and other compensation and benefits partners.
  • Engage with senior leadership, Human Resources, and employees to identify key priorities and opportunities for enhancing total rewards offerings. Consult with the HRBP teams on compensation and benefits related topics.
  • Connect and integrate Tennant’s total rewards strategies with Tennant’s employee value proposition, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, and other people priorities.
  • Design, implement, and administer global compensation programs, including base pay, variable pay, and incentive plans (including equity).
  • Manage Tennant’s executive compensation program alongside VP, Talent & Total Rewards. To include, Compensation Committee materials preparation, equity management, and reporting, such as the Proxy.
  • Oversee the design and administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellbeing initiatives, and other benefits.
  • Apply an analytical approach to evaluate Tennant data and external trends to develop data-driven total rewards recommendations with the goal of continually improving our programs.
  • Develop metrics and analytics to assess the effectiveness of compensation and benefits programs in driving employee engagement, retention, and performance.
  • Lead a team of skilled total rewards professionals, providing coaching and development opportunities for growth.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment focused on delivering high-quality products.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; advanced degree or certification (e.g., MBA, CCP, CBP) a plus
  • 10 years of applicable experience, with demonstrable experience in total rewards management, with a history of designing and implementing effective compensation and benefits programs.
  • Experience designing and administering compensation and benefits programs.
  • Executive compensation and equity administration experience.
  • Global knowledge and experience preferred.
  • Results oriented with excellent analytical and project management skills. Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to engage, interact and build credibility with a variety of different stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
