As a Finance Analyst located in our Florock facilities in Chicago, you’ll provide strong financial support to the Coatings business within Tennant Company. In this role you’ll be supporting business functions such as sales, marketing, manufacturing and R&D with everything from reporting, forecasts, budgets, expenses to variance analysis. You’ll also work on ad hoc requests and projects that will have you interacting with other finance peers and cross-functional leadership.   • Responsible for daily/monthly/yearly sales reporting to sales force and management team.
  • Coordinate closely with Regional Managers to ensure monthly/quarterly sales forecasts are accurate and Risks & Opportunities identified.
  • Work closely with the sales team members to ensure they are well informed of individual performance vs plan and respond to sales team requests for information.
  • Review and report on monthly expenses vs Prior Year, Plan, and Forecast. Lead monthly budget reviews with Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, Admin, and R&D department heads to ensure actual expenses are being managed within the budget.
  • Work with corporate accounting team to understand and manage accruals as needed.
  • Reporting on monthly Manufacturing Variances including root cause analysis.
  • Manage the monthly Cycle Count process.
  • Support development of new Key Performance Indicators for plant performance.
  • Will be a key member in managing the Annual Operating Plan including development of department expense budgets and development of sales forecasts while making sure corporate timelines are met.
  • Actively participating in the annual costing process, including year over year analysis of standard cost changes and root cause analysis of cost run errors.
  • Work with the Operations Director to manage plant Capital Expenditures.
  • Respond to other ad hoc requests in a timely and efficient manner.


Education and Experience


  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance preferred
  • MBA/CPA preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of finance experience
  • Experience working within a Manufacturing/Plant environment preferred
  • Advanced/Expert level in Microsoft Excel
  • VBA experience preferred
  • Strong systems and technical knowledge preferably with SAP, BPC, and BW
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Strong problem-solver.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • High level of maturity and professionalism.
  • Have a strong client service mindset.
  • Willingness to be flexible with time and adjust to a changing work environment.
  • Strong communication and influencing skill
