Senior Business Continuity Specialist


The Senior Business Continuity Specialist will assist and ensure Tennant’s corporate Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) is designed, executed and globalized effectively and per the approved framework, and is continuously improving.  Included is coordinating the development, training, testing, maintenance, and exercising of the critical elements of the BCMS including Crisis Management & Communications, Emergency Response, IT Disaster Recovery, response and Business Recovery.  The Senior Business Continuity Specialist will have a primary focus on security intelligence and global physical security issues, including but not limited to intelligence assessments, security reviews and networking with internal and external consultants. 




Business Continuity Systems-

  • The position will be assisting with the BCMS in addition to supporting the company’s broader emergency management development, exercise facilitation and plan reviews.
  • Assist the BCSC to support the BCMS Framework as well as manage relationships from all business unit leaders to ensure BCM is a priority within their teams.
  • Monitor BC-related developments in government and industry, and support efforts to move Tennant toward certification under ISO 22301 (business continuity standard).
  • Maintain and continuously improve crisis and emergency management products and tools and educate staff on how to use them properly. As part of this, assist in maintaining and periodically test the Tennant emergency communication system.
  • Crisis response support and serve as a member of the emergency response teams.
    Global Security Support-
  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of physical security including locks, alarms, CCTV, and key administration programs.  This includes vendor selection and coordination arranging or installation, and assistance to management teams on related programs.
  • Enforce standard procedure and protocol regarding Corporate Security.  Create internal customer-focused awareness and training to establish a secure environment.
  • Oversee the integration of corporate security policies and procedures into operations, maintenance, training, communications and measurement systems.
  • Partner with corporate, field and plant management, risk, HR and legal to help develop and track the implementation effectiveness of security programs.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field is required
  • 5-7 years’ experience in criminal justice and business continuity management
  • Direct experience in a significant role, including, security, crisis management, and
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to gather and critically evaluate information.
  • Experience using/facilitating ISO systems.
  • Professional Certification in Business Continuity and/or Emergency Management preferred.
