Customer Service Representative

Position Summary:

Primarily responsible for providing effective customer service for all internal and external Tennant customers by utilizing excellent, in-depth knowledge of company products and programs. This includes receiving, investigating and responding to all  inquires from Sales and customers (machine orders, service contracts, shipments, products and complaints) and input of phone/e-mail orders and other relative data into SAP.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

  • Provide first contact with customers, dealers, and sales and service reps concerning machine orders, returns, shipments and other products.
  • Receive and enter phone and e-mail orders according to key performance indicators
  • Registering/administrating customer orders (machine orders and service contracts)
  • Call Sales and customers when necessary to advise shipments delay and/or information necessary to process orders
  • Support the Sales  organization by relaying messages to the appropriate stakeholders
  • Monitor backorders and make changes to or cancel orders/backorders
  • Initiate orders for replacement parts and/or for correcting errors (shortages, wrong item shipped, etc.)
  • Initiate file maintenance for corrections to customer files
  • Handle customer complaints in a professional manner
  • Obtain customer feedback information
